When action in the Second Ground Entertainment/Extra Beer Ballers in the Summer Street knock-out football tournament continued on Wednesday night last at the Pouderoyen Tarmac, two of the biggest names in this version of the sport were sent packing like defending champions, Jetty Gunners.
Knocked out were Sparta Boss and West Front Road-Gold is Money which lost two grueling matches on sudden death kicks from the penalty spot to by similar 1-2 margins to Lot-20 and ESPN following 0-0 score lines.
Also moving on in the competition were Tiger Bay which needled Brothers United, Dave and Celina’s All Stars schooled Shattaville Gunners 5-0, Champion Boys won another epic against Tajoe’s Admiral United 3-2 on penalty kicks following an entertaining 2-2 draw in regulation and extra time while Tucville took care of Albouystown, 2-0.
Meanwhile, matches will continue tonight at the same venue from 18:00hrs when Silver Bullets match skills with Tucville followed by a clash between Lot-20 and Back Circle before Dave and Celina All Stars throw everything on eth line against Bagotsown Warriors.
Match four will see Tajo Admiral opposing Show Stoppers after which Future Stars will take center stage against Samaroo Dam.
ESPN will then seek to move on further in the competition when they come up against Hustlers before Agricola battle Speed Boat in eth penultimate match of the night.
The main attraction features Tiger Bay against Gully Side.
