A post mortem examination conducted on the body of Karamchand Parbudyal of Grant 1651 Crabwood Creek revealed that he died from drowning. The three men who were in his company at the time of disappearance have since been released from custody.
Karamchand Parbudyal’s body washed up along the Number 72-74 Foreshore after going missing on Saturday during a fishing trip with three other friends. His body was discovered and identified by his son-in-law during an early morning search.
Parbudyal, commonly called “Dar” had gone on a fishing trip with friends at Calabash Creek,, Upper Corentyne on Saturday.
The man’s daughter Tanuja Parbudyal disclosed that she was told by the men that he was standing in water “waist high” and a stone’s throw away.
The woman further relayed that about an hour after hearing of the incident from her mother and the men, she ventured to the area in company of relatives, neighbours and friends in search for her missing father but failed to locate him after close to seven hours of searching. Her father, she noted was wearing a pair of brown pants, a black shirt, a white hat and flip flops. Police she disclosed, found his flip-flops near the fishing boat and his shirt in the boat.
Kaieteur News also understands that the three men who were with Karamchand during the trip are close friends of his and well known to the family. They were reportedly consuming alcohol during the fishing trip.
