Wellman Masters and Floodlights recorded victories when the Mike’s Pharmacy, Trophy Stall and Nauth Motor Spares 20-over softball competition continued yesterday at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground.
Wellman Masters defeated Fisherman XI by 21 runs. Batting first, Wellman Masters scored 141 all out in 19 overs. Raymond Harper struck one four and four sixes in a top score of 48 while Sheldon Perch made 24 (1×4, 2×6). Roy Persaud had 2-15, Stanley Mohabir 2-16 and Puran Singh 2-20.
Fisherman XI responded with 120 all out in 18.4 overs. Troy Ramsaywak slammed three fours and four sixes in scoring 47 while Puran Singh made 25 (1×4, 2×6). Latchman Kallicharran took 2-14, Eon Lovell 2-23, Perch 2-25 and Greg De Franca 2-26.
Floodlights overcame HS Masters by 10 runs in their encounter. Floodlights batted first and posted 166-5. Veerapen Moonsammy led with 49 with one four and three sixes, while Ricky Deonarain struck 48 including four sixes and Clive Canterbury 28. HS Masters threatened but fell for 156 in reply. Patrick Khan got 37, Danny Mohanram 35 and Clyde Hoyte 32. Ramchand Ragbeer claimed 2-14 and Imtiaz Mohamed 2-19.
