Multi talented Guyanese athlete Alisha Fortune (40-44 age group) is aiming to
attend the North and Central America and Caribbean Region of World Masters Athletics Championships (NCCWMA) set for the York Lions Stadium – Toronto, Canada, next month.
Fortune who competed in France in 2015 when she won gold medals in the 100m, 200m and 400m and was ranked as the best athlete in the 100m and 200m and 2nd in the 400m is seeking to raise $331,000 in order to attend.
The South American Masters 100m female record holder (12.04) is appealing to Government of Guyana and corporate entities assist her with the requisite funding in order to attend and represent Guyana. She said that she is confident she will again conqueror the opposition.
