Guyana suffered their third loss in as many matches but put in a much more improved performance as they went down to Mexico in their third and final Group A game of the Centrobasket Under-17 championships in the Dominican Republic, yesterday.
The young Guyanese lost 63-74 to the Mexicans after trailing 29-46 at the half way mark.
Their most dependable player and leading scorer, Kevon Wiggins was again the top shooter with 22 points to follow up his 15 against Puerto Rico and 32 against the Bahamas; ending with an average of 23 points per game.
Wiggins received support from the dependable Nigel Bowen who tipped in 21 points, both players drained two 3-pointers each.
