Guyana’s Keevin Allicock claimed the Flyweight (52kg) division silver medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games Boxing Championship in the Bahamas yesterday.
The Albouystown youngster lost to 16 year old Englishman M.A. James in the final 5-0.
Allicock had stormed to a commanding 4-1 victory earlier over British fighter Kian Bittles on Friday, while Saturday Allicock dominated Canadian fighter Jordan Mathieu 5-0 in the semifinals.
James also showed his ability, winning 5-0, beating Taylor Hamilton of Scotland in his semifinals bout and maintained his impressive showing over the Guyanese.
Congratulations to Allicock for a job well done as his, is the only medal won by Guyana at these games to date.
