Dear Editor,
This letter is all about some minibuses that operate in Enterprise, ECD. There have been too much report and complaints to the Vigilance Police Station about the most unbearable noise nuisance and overloading of the buses but we are not getting the help we need. We who live in Enterprise and travel can give the most accurate information to the police to solve this “mega nuisance.” we beg, we cry , we plead , to help the elderly citizen and the sick and suffering , the Infant and kids who travel on the buses to the Vigilance Traffic Department but it seems the police are afraid of the bus drivers or they aren’t afraid of the police officers.
Yesterday, there was a bus (number given) that was playing very loud music in Enterprise by a shop in Park Street. There was drinking and wild frolic, while my sick grandmother and little children who live around in a residential neighbourhood was being affected very badly , A call was made to the closest Police Station Vigilance, and nothing was done
A call was made to the Cove N John Police Station which is about five miles away. The Officer in Charge (if I have the name correct Ramphal) promised action will be taken. Two police vehicles arrived promptly and caught the bus in the act of disturbing the peace of this quiet village. He was arrested and taken to the Cove N John police station. We hope action will be taken swiftly .
To the Traffic Department at Vigilance shame on you; you let down the people and government of this beautiful country. I say that the highest authority should transfer all of you to the remotest part in Guyana or you all should be disciplined to do some community work. To the honest and caring police officers at Cove N John we pray for God’s richest blessing and may you all live long life to help us out. To the Government please see that these officers are rewarded with promotion, and please send some honest officers to root out the corrupt policemen at Vigilance. To those who are suffering and being affected by these rogue buses please call Cove N John to get the help you may need .
