The Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) once again successfully completed another volleyball tournament with the playing off of the Rollers Volleyball Club one day Volleyball extravaganza which was played last Sunday at The GTM Court in New Amsterdam, Berbice.
The day began with prayer and blessing by the executives. A total of 10 teams participated in the day’s competition which saw three different categories played: – males, female and juniors.
Among the males teams that competed were Port Mourant Training Centre (PMTC), Under 18, Police Recruits and hosts Rollers Volleyball Club of New Amsterdam.
Among the females were: – Port Mourant Female and Corriverton Jets. The teams that participated in the junior category were: GTCPM1, GTCPM2, Corriverton Jets ‘A’ and Corriverton Jets ‘B’.
In the end it was the (PMTC) lads that came out tops in the senior category after defeating the U-18 combination 26-24 in a close encounter that went down to the wire.
The female competition saw Port Mourant females getting the better of their counterparts from Corriverton Jets 2-0. The winning scores were – 21-18, 21-17.
The junior male category saw PMTC1 defeating Corriverton Jets A 25-20 to take the first place in that division.
At the end of the competition the top teams were presented with trophies compliments of the Rollers Volleyball Club.
