Minister of Public Security, Khemraj Ramjattan visited injured prison warden Hubert Trim yesterday at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Trim sustained gunshot wounds and chops about his body after he was attacked by inmates during last Sunday’s fire and jail break at the Camp Street prison. He was in a critical state initially.
The other prison wardens who were hospitalised are Simeon Sandy, Drexel Gonsalves, Errol Daphnes, Jason Maltoy, Dominic Mingo.
They either received gunshots or chop wounds or a combination of both.
They have all been discharged from the hospital.
Prison officer, Odinga Wickham, died, while receiving medical attention after receiving a gunshot wound to the chest and chops.
According to information, the inmates disarmed Prison officers and shot them.
The inmates also used improvised weapons to inflict chop wounds on the prison officers.
