A fine half century by Gopaul Deen coupled by a four-wicket haul from Richard Patterson handed Essequibo Masters a 52-run win over Amazon when the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association 20-over tournament continued yesterday.
Deen slammed 52 and got support from Naresh Narine 41 and Seepersaud Sankar 27 as Essequibo Masters posted 187 all out in 18.2 overs, batting first at Airy Hall ground on the Essequibo Coast.
Sheik Ally snared 3-27, while Randolph Perreira had 2-22, Raghunandan Narine 2-33 and Salman Ghanie 2-41.
In reply, Amazon were restricted to 135 for 7. Randolph Perreira struck 47 and Samsundar Singh made 35 as Patterson grabbed 4-32.
