Sabina Global Communities of Lot 9 St. Lawrence, East Bank Essequibo has thrown their support behind the Stage of Champions 11 which is set for November 18 at Theatre Guild.
Stage of Champions 11 is a bodybuilding and fitness competition which features local and overseas athletes competing in various categories. The contest is being sanctioned by the Central America and Caribbean Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (CAC) and the Guyana Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GABBFF).
David Aparisio of Sabina Global Communities presented a cheque to organiser Videsh Sookram at a simple ceremony held at Space Gym, Croal and Sandyman Streets yesterday.
Aparisio said he is happy to be part of the show and that as a modern international entity they focus on healthy foods with their motto being ‘promoting resilient sustainable agriculture.’ “We thought it best to support the competition and to be aligned with people who make the sacrifices to pay attention to their personal well being,” he stated, adding that a healthy lifestyle will do Guyanese society well.
Sookram thanked Sabina Global Communities who is one of the main sponsors along with space gym. He stated that the show is expected to be an exciting one with a number of top athletes from various countries expected to compete. He informed that Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Anguilla and St. Marten (Dutch and French) are the countries that have confirmed their participation so far.
Athletes will compete in the U143lbs, U155 lbs, U165lbs, U176lbs, 177lbs and over, female bikini and men’s physique open. Cash prizes, trophies, medals and hampers will be up for the taking.
Among other sponsors on so far board are Fitness Express, Farfan and Mendez, Rawl Chin Floral Arrangement, Prem’s Electrical, Dereck Jaisingh Trucking and Machinery, David and Annavell Gold Nudget Run. (Zaheer Mohamed)
