A woman was granted bail in the sum of $200,000 on Wednesday after she appeared before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on a charge of forgery.
Forty-nine-year-old Liloutie Prasad of Vreed-en-Hoop denied the charge which alleged that on December 11, 2015 at Charlotte Street, Georgetown, she uttered a forged Last Will and Testament property of Sase Narine Ramsaywack to the Deeds Registry.
The court heard that the accused was in a common-law relationship with Sase Narine Raysaywack, who is now deceased and he is the owner of Lot 159 DeSilva Street, Newtown.
The court heard that the deceased has a son who reported to the police that his stepmother took his father’s Will and Testament and forged it.
An investigation was carried out by the police, which showed that the documents were forged by the defendant. The defendant was then arrested and charged.
According to information the defendant and the now dead Ramsaywack was in a relationship. After his death she realized that he left all his property for his son and she was not given anything.
The woman then took the Will and forged it in her favour. She will make her next court appearance on June 30.
