Esan Abrams, the man who on May 29, last, was charged with allegedly sodomizing a 14-year-old boy, was yesterday released on $250,000 bail by Magistrate Leron Daly, when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Abrams, 37, who said he lives in North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, has not been required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that between June 21 and June 22, 2015 at the National Park, he engaged in sexual penetration of the minor.
As a condition attached to bail, Abrams was instructed to report to the Brickdam Police Station every other Friday.
The police prosecutor requested that Abrams lodge his passport with the court.
However, Attorney-at-Law Nigel Hughes who is representing the accused, disclosed that his client’s passport was lost and produced an affidavit.
A Preliminary Inquiry (PI) by way of Paper Committal will be conducted in this matter. The matter will be called again on July 11.
