Tutorial High local alumni reward top CSEC performer

Rewarding a student for his or her academic performance can only serve as a boost for confidence as well as a motivator to strive for higher heights.

In this regard, the Tutorial High School Alumni (Guyana Chapter) presented top performing CSEC 2016 student, Joshua Kobe Grant, with a monetary prize.
The cheque was presented to Grant in the presence of his teachers, his mother and his younger sister, who is also a student of Tutorial High during a small ceremony at the school‘s library on Thursday evening.
The 17-year-old was the top performing CSEC student for 2016. He obtained 12 subjects at CSEC 2016 – 8 Grade ones and 5 Grade twos (a double award for Agricultural Science).
His teachers commended him for his work. Tutorial High School teacher, Feliz Munroe, noted that the teenager has always been a very disciplined and well-behaved student. She described Grant as an assiduous worker.
“Very witty and produced the most outstanding projects, the teachers said. We proudly displayed his work in the staffroom because it was always of such a high standard.”
“His percentages surpassed expectations. Joshua always managed to maintain the top position throughout all the levels of Tutorial High School. He maintained his modesty…was never boastful and very helpful to his fellow classmates.”
Grant is currently pursuing a Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination, (CAPE) Certificate, at Queen’s College.
During his formative years at Tutorial High School, the teen was quickly recognized as one of Tutorial’s scholars and ordained future valedictorian.
“Suffice to say, he obtained 12 subjects in CSEC 2016. We congratulate him on a job well done, “the teachers remarked.
The valedictorian expressed his heartfelt gratitude to those who supported him throughout his studies.
Grant thanked his teachers for their hand of dedication towards aiding him with preparations for CSEC and the completion of all his School Based Assessments (SBA).
