Dear Editor,
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. David Mortley’s letter published in May. The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) appreciates the feedback provided and apologizes for any inconvenience experienced. In his letter, Mr. Mortley asked; “Why are GPOC staff not trained in the methods of communication? Why couldn’t someone say to us from the beginning that cash was not available…?” While GPOC does not wish to recuse itself, it is imperative to mention that the Corporation’s policy mandates all staff members to treat our pensioners and customers in a courteous and professional manner. This policy is further emphasized during our customer relations training. GPOC remains committed to ensuring that all customers are courteously served with the least inconvenience. Customers that have any feedback are encouraged to contact the Customer Services Department on telephone number 226-3127 or email customercare@guypost.gy.
