The Blairmont Cricket Club’s inaugural UMPIRES CUP fundraiser which was scheduled for tomorrow at the Blairmont Estate Ground, in aid of the Guyana Cricket Umpire Council (GCUC) has been postponed to May 21 since tomorrow is Mother’s Day.
Tomorrow’s event should have included 10/10 cricket, a Domino Competition, Checkers and a Volleyball competition. Interested individuals for Dominoes and Volleyball can contact 627-5215 and 628-6767 for more information.
However, it was agreed by the organisers since tomorrow is a day to honour mothers the attendance would have been less than expected because of the special day.
The GCUC will be seeking to send six members to an umpire’s convention in Jamaica from 1st to 8th July. Participants of the convention will come from Canada, USA, and the Caribbean Cricket territories.
