of its Regional Member Association (RMA) for two Intra Association leagues in the Boardroom of the governing body.
Forde, in remarks prior to the signing of the documents, stated that it was a necessary step in establishing the level of cooperation that is needed between all the stakeholders involved in the administration of the sport.
MoU’s were inked for the already in train, GFF/NAMILCO ‘Thunderbolt Flour Power’ National U-17 Intra-Association Tournament and the GFF/Pele Alumni ‘Frank Watson’ National U-15 Intra-Association Tournament.
Reflecting on the first round of the GFF/NAMILCO ‘Thunderbolt Flour Power’ National U-17 Intra-Association tourney, Forde said that it afforded the GFF the chance to evaluate where the GFF was as a family with regards to its capacity to execute some of its programmes.
”What we observed during the months of the NAMILCO tournament is that many of our colleagues within the membership have some fundamental challenges in terms of their ability to execute. The challenges range from capacity to simple cases of being more responsible and more accountable for the material that were issued to them and ensuring that the conduct of the league was consistent with was expected from MA’s.”
As a result of that evaluation, the GFF Forde said, pieced together the MoU’s which outlines the responsibilities of both the GFF and RMA’s.
”So I think that this will give us some platform that we can move forward on; because ultimately we are accountable to the sponsors and we cannot have the sponsors coming onboard giving us their support financially and otherwise and not be able to execute these tournaments.”
Forde further underscored the importance of RMA’s working towards ensuring that everything be done to protect the partnerships that are being established for the many leagues.

He commended the Pele Alumini for their bold investment at the Under-15 level and is hopeful that the execution of the leagues would be worthy of their investment.
”We are looking forward to exciting tournaments both at the U15 and U17 levels. The GFF is ready to offer whatever support our members would need in the execution of these tournaments, so good luck to everyone.”
It was disclosed that the GFF executive members would be visiting venues from time to time to get a firsthand experience of the execution as well as get a glimpse of the talented players.
The leagues Forde posited, would provide the best opportunity for the scouting of players which forms part of the new National Development Strategy which is being implemented by the Technical department of the GFF.
Meanwhile, RMA’s were presented with equipment compliments of the Pele Alumini for the GFF/Pele Alumni ‘Frank Watson’ National U-15 Intra-Association Tournament. Among the items handed over were balls, goal nets, bibs and the funding for the execution of the league.
