Farm and Uprising recorded victories when the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association T20 tournament commenced recently at Farm.
Farm beat Silver Bullet by 11 runs. Farm were bowled out for 101 in 19.5 overs, batting first. John Paton made 26 and Peter Persaud 15. Raymond Micthell had 4-19 and Vickram Lokenauth 2-16. In reply Silver Bullet were sent packing for 90 in 19.2 overs. Trevor Gomes made 21 and Harrynandan Persaud 18. Paton had 2-13 and Arif Peerbacchus 2-14.
Rome Athletics beat Ruimveldt. Uprising beat Combined United by one wicket. Combined United batted first and scored 168 all out in 20 overs. P. Edwards stroked 58 not out while J. Ramroop got 26; Steve Jowahir took 2-17 and Dinesh Rampersaud 2-16. In response Uprising got to 170-9 in 19.1 overs. S. Sankar slammed 52 and Elton John 40. R. Reid had 3-28 and Ramroop 2-25.
Herstelling overcame Sandpipers and Rome Athletics beat Ruimveldt in other fixtures. The competition continues tomorrow.
