– Chapman is new commander of ‘A’ Division; Adonis in charge of ‘C’ Division
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Clifton Hicken, will now be serving the Guyana Police Force from a higher office – Assistant Commission of Operations at the force’s headquarters, Eve Leary.
The police, in a statement, said that on Tuesday, Assistant Commissioner of Operations, Christopher Griffith, proceeded on pre-retirement leave.
“As a consequence, Commander ‘A’ Division, Assistant Commissioner Clifton Hicken assumed the post of Assistant Commissioner “Operations”. Further, Commander ‘C’ Division, Assistant Commissioner Marlon Chapman is now in command of ‘A’ Division, while his deputy, Senior Superintendent Kevin Adonis takes over the helm of ‘C’ Division.”
Chapman had acted as commander of ‘A’ Division in the past while Hicken had been on leave.
On a Facebook page, Hicken yesterday said that it was a pleasure working at the Brickdam office as ‘A’ Division Commander.
“…and I wish to thank the junior ranks and senior officers there as well as the various communities for their unwavering support over the last three years,” Hicken said.
