New water wells for Pouderoyen, Vergenoegen and Westminster

-Lancaster, Buxton Secondary Schools to be extended

During the opening of tenders yesterday at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), contractors vied for the contract to supply materials, labour and equipment for the drilling of three potable water wells: Lot One, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara; Lot Two, Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo; and Lot Three, Westminster, West Bank Demerara.

The procuring entity is the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI).

Alvin Charanmootoo Construction was the sole bidder for the construction of Catchment & Supply and installation of P.V.C Distribution Main at Chenapau, Region Eight (Potaro/Siparuni). The contractor’s bid price was announced at $29.9M. The engineer’s estimate is $31.8M

Also, tenders were open for the supply of materials, labour and equipment to install 560 Millimetres (mm) High-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) Transmission Mains along Vlissengen Road – between Shelterbelt and Kitty Seawall (Lot One) – Region Four. The GWI is the procuring entity.

Finally, under the GWI, bids were submitted for the contract to supply materials, labour and equipment for the extension of 150 mm Distribution Mains and Service Connections from Phillipi to Bengal, Berbice.

The Regional Democratic Council (RDC) for Region Four (Demerara/Mahaica) is the procuring entity for the construction of the Eccles Health Centre at Block ‘BB’ Eccles Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara.

The RDC is also the procuring entity for the extension of the Lancaster Secondary School, Unity East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Finally, under the RDC, tenders were open for the extension of the Buxton Secondary School, ECD.

Also, financial proposals were submitted for the supervision of the construction of three general secondary schools (Locations were not announced).

The University of Guyana (UG) is the procuring entity for consultants to design, provide drawings, and Bills of Quantities for civil works on buildings.

The Guyana Energy Agency (GEA) is the procuring entity for the supply and installation of 20 integrated stand-alone solar powered 60W LED street lights.

Tenders were open for the review of an Environmental Impact Assessment for oil offshore Guyana. The procuring entity is the Ministry of the Presidency.

The Sea Defence Division of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure was listed as the procuring entity for the upgrading of river defences at Scottsburg, Corentyne Berbice.

Bids were also submitted for the construction of a Health Centre at Number 77 Housing Scheme. The Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Six (East Berbice/Corentyne) is the procuring entity.

Tenders were open for Consultancy Services for the design and supervision of a new registration office at Mabaruma, Region One (Barima/Waini) for the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM).

GECOM is also the procuring entity for the procurement and installation of Accounting Software, QuickBooks Enterprise and Accounting Procedure Manual.

The Guyana Lands and Survey Commission (GL&SC) is the procuring entity for the supply and delivery of “total station”. Liu and Associates was the sole bidder for this project with a bid price of $10.8M.

The GL&SC is also the procuring entity for the procurement of computers.

Tenders were also open for the upgrade of the Rosehall, Berbice dumpsite. The Ministry of Communities is the procuring entity.

The Communities Ministry was also listed as the procuring entity for the upgrade of temporary holding area at the Haags Bosch Sanitary Landfill, East Bank Demerara.

The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) is the procuring entity for the supply and installation of operating room lights.

The GPHC was listed also as the procuring entity for the supply and installation of a 1,000 KVA three-phase pad mounted transformer.

Finally, under the GPHC, tenders were open for online uninterrupted.

The Ministry of Natural Resources is the procuring entity for the supply of Oil Containment Boom. Industrial Safety Supplies Incorporated was the sole bidder with a bid price of $44.9M.

Tenders were open as well, for the procurement of one refurbished roller for the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region 10 (Upper Demerara/Upper Berbice).

The Council was listed as the procuring entity for rehabilitative works to Icy Road Block 22.

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure is the procuring entity for the construction of a rural single lane roundabout at Timehri, East Bank Demerara.

The Public Infrastructure Ministry is also the procuring entity for the rehabilitation/construction of Hinterland Roads in Region Seven. This project is divided into four lots: Lot One, rehabilitation/construction of Karrau to Buckhall(Phase One – Blue Mountain); Lot Two, rehabilitation/construction of Bartica/Potaro Road to St. Mary`s Quarry (Phase One); Lot Three : rehabilitation/construction of Issano Road(Phase One- White Hill); Lot Four, rehabilitation/construction of Bartica/Potaro Road (Phase One Sherim Bypass).
