Fon Roje Variety Store yesterday handed over one of the impressive gate prizes that
will be given to a lucky patron on Sunday at the Boyce and Jefford Relay Festival and Family Fun Day, set for the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
The Store supplied a microwave that will be one of three prizes to be handed out to lucky ticket holders on the day. The other two prizes are a household hamper, including Ariel Soap Powder, Swinger Matches, Rage Insecticide among other items, compliments of Ansa McAl and US$100.
Patrons will be asked to keep their ticket stubs upon entry to the event. The stubs will be placed into a bag for a draw where the lucky ticket holder will win one of the three prizes. Ticket for the event costs $500 for Adults and $200 for Children.
Chairman of the Management Committee for the Boyce and Jefford Relay Festival, Colin Boyce, thanked McWatt for their contribution, indicating that such contributions will help the organisers to keep their stated commitment to patrons.
Cash Prizes of $25,000; $15,000 and $10,000 will be awarded to teams finishing first to third in 10 relay events for total prize money of $500,000 to be handed out. In addition, cash prizes will also be up for grabs in 5-a-side football, softball cricket, cycling and dominoes.
A total of $1.2 million will be handed out in the various sports events on the day. The event will start at 10am on Sunday.
