Banks DIH Trophy Stall, Shariff and Jumbo among major sponsors
After a few disappointments and postponements due to the inclement weather and other unforeseen circumstances, the Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park, West Coast Berbice, is set to taste it first horserace meet for 2017.
The event which is dubbed “the grand one day of Photo Finish” is organised by the Rising Sun Turf Club and friends of Rising Sun and set for Sunday May 7.
The event has seven races listed on the day’s card with over $6M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for the takings.
This race meet is expected to be a special one for many reasons, especially since the start of the year there has been a number of different winners coming to the fore.
This event is expected to provide some answers and with all the races being 1400M, the event has been classified as a sprint classic.
Banks DIH Limited along with Trophy Stall of Bourda Market and the Jumbo Jet Business entity has so far come forward as major sponsors. Reports are that Banks DIH, the pacesetters, will once again take charge of the Feature event, which this time will be for animals classified D3 and lower for a winning take of $800,000 and trophy over 1400M which incidentally is the distance of all of the races.
The other events listed on the day are – The event for G1 and E3 non earners for the last six months which as a winning take of $400,000 and trophy.
The race for H3 and lower horses has a top prize of $350,000 and trophy.
The race for three years and I and lower animals will be contested for a winning purse of $250,000 and trophy.
The J2 and K and lower event will see the animals racing for a winner’s take of $200,000 and trophy. The L and lower animals will be galloping for a bounty of $175,000 and trophy.
There is also a race for cow and cart horses for a winner’s tale of $100,000 and trophy.
