The Management and members of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, MS would like to congratulate our member Assad Fudadin, on scoring his sixth first class century last weekend and five of our female cricketers on their selection on the Guyana Senior female cricket team, the club stated in a release.
As a Club we are very proud of their achievements and we would like to wish all of them continued success in their future.
Assad’s century is special to all of us at the RHTY&SC as it comes at a crucial period in his career after being left out of the Guyana four day team at the start of first class season. We are confident that this century along with the 50 he scored against Trinidad in the 7th round would be the start of a highly successful second phase of his career. Assad’s special talent is well known but in life, there has to be a phase where disappointments have to occur so that we can cherish success when it comes around. We would like to encourage Assad to remain focused and to work towards scoring another ton against the Leeward Islands in the final round to remain in the plans of the West Indies Cricket Selectors, the release further stated.
We are also very proud of our five female cricketers – Shemaine Campbelle, Erva Giddings, Meliane Henry, Shabati Gajnabi and Plaffina Millington on their selection to the Guyana team. The girls have all worked hard to make the team and we are confident that each one of them would make us proud on and off the cricket field.
The RHTY&SC, MS and Metro Office Supplies have invested heavily in Guyana’s only female cricket team and the team over the years have become the pride of the Club. The success of the RHTY&SC over the years has been based on a simple formula of hard work, dedication, faith in the God we serve, honesty and we would advise the girls to remain committed to those values.
The RHTY&SC, M.S would like to also acknowledge the role of the official cricket sponsors who have invested heavily into the careers of every one of our cricketers – Farfan & Mendes, Bakewell, Pepsi, Metro and Gizmos & Gadgets.
Special congrats to Andre Percival on his selection as Coach of the Guyana Female team. Andre is a highly respected Coach who inspires his players and who earns the respect of them, the release said.
