The CBR Hotspots Stag Bowl Football Tournament kicked off last Saturday at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground with a double header. Promoter Rickland ‘Tallo’ Hutson and Linden Mayor Carwyn Holland met the teams and officials before the start of the first game in Group B between Wisroc/Block 22 and Central Mackenzie.

From then it was a battle for goals as each team fought to move forward. The first goal came just six minutes into play off the boot of Shane Luckey (16) and as hard as One Mile/Half Mile/Scheme played they couldn’t net an equalizer. At the end of the first half it was 1 nil in favour of Blue Berry Hill.
From the sound of the whistle in the second half Blue Berry Hill looked determined to secure their lone goal but in the 50th minute Sheldon Holder (11) netted a second goal giving them more confidence.
