A pedal cyclist was hit by a speeding car HC 7383 in the vicinity of Adventure on
the Soesdyke/ Linden Highway yesterday afternoon about 17:00 hrs.
According to Commander E Division, Snr. Supt. Fazil Karimbaskh, the cyclist Raymond Isaacs, 21, of Silver Hill, Soesdyke /Linden Highway was riding on the western side of the highway when motor car HC7383 driven by Steven Pearson, aka Dog, 21, came into contact with him killing him on the spot.
According to reports the car was proceeding to Georgetown.
This is the second fatal accident for the year as compared to one for the corresponding period in 2016.
The driver is in police custody at the Mackenzie Police Station assisting with investigations.
