Entries are expected to be closed tomorrow for the annual Guyana Cup Fever Horserace meet set for next Sunday 16 April (Easter Sunday).
So far over 55 entries have been received for the event which is slated for the
Port Mourant Turf Club, Corentyne Berbice. The event is organised by the Jumbo Jet Auto sales and racing stables in collaboration with the Port Mourant Turf Club.
A number of leading racehorses have been added to the fray to complement those already entered. With eight races listed for the day and over $8M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs the day’s meet is expected to be scintillating.
The feature B1 and lower 1900M event has seen Jack is MY Style and Keep On Swinging being added to the list as they joined others such as Princess She Not, C.P Got Even as they thrown down the gauntlet against the likes of Golden Blue Echo, Lady Budapest, Brave Sky, Spit Fire and Just call me Boss so far for the $1M and trophy.
An interesting list has been released for the E1 and lower West Indies bred non earners for 2016 and 2017 and E3 US and Canadian bred non earners for 2016 and 2017. Release the Beast, Goodwill Boy, Light UP Canada, Spit Fire, Red and Lovely and Its My Choice has so far been lined up for the 1200M event for the $600,000 winners money and trophy.
The event for 4-year-old West Indies bred and G3 and lower animals has already attracted a top notch field that includes Super Bowl, Cat Messiah, Sweet Return, Isn’t She Charming and Big Man Boss for the $300,000 winner’s money and trophy.
A similarly impressive lineup that includes the likes of Cat Messiah, Super Bowl, Sweet Return, and T and T are in the H3 and lower event for the $275,000 first prize and trophy.
The other event will see a combined classification of 3 years old Guyana bred and those classified I 1 and lower for a first prize of $225,000 and trophy.
Guyana bred three years old maiden horses will have their chance to race for a winning take of $220,000 and trophy.
There is an event for animals classified J2 and K for a winning take of $175,000 and trophy.
The L and lower event will see the winner getting $130,000 and trophy.
Top horses, stables and jockeys will be awarded compliments of Ramesh Sunich, Trophy Stall of Bourda Market.
A number of added attractions and incentives including free kites will be given away on race day. There will also be bouncy castle, trampoline and other attractions for children.
