Insurance giant, Hand in Hand Insurance Companies is once again on board with The Young Warriors Cricket Club (YWCC) Mash Cup 2017. This is the fourth edition of the competition and it is slated to be held on April 30 at the picturesque Cumberland Cricket Ground, East Canje, Berbice.
In a release from the YMCC, one of the top clubs in Berbice, everything is in place for this mega event which has been a major fund raiser for the club and Proceeds will go towards their cricket development programmes. Over the years funds from this event have also contributed towards the uplifting of the ground.
It is expected that a number of teams from the East Canje area will compete in the action packed five-over competition for cash prizes of over $100,000. Additionally two top Masters Softball teams are expected to do battle in a 15 overs feature game. There will also be added attractions for children and the entire family. Live musical entertainment and a well stocked bar will be there.
At the presentation ceremony, Mr Tajpaul Adjodhea, Berbice Manager of the Insurance Company, said that his company is once again pleased to be associated with the club. As a resident of the East Canje area, he said that he is impressed with what the club has done for youths in the area. He made special mention of young Shimron Hetmyer, the winning West Indies under-19 World Cup Captain who is a product of the YWCC.
In response, Rafeek Kassim, president of the club thanked the company for their support and promised accountability.
