Vijay Surujpaul struck a half century as Die Hard beat Golden Fleece by 22 runs when the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association/Digicel tournament continued on Sunday at Perseverance beach on the Essequibo Coast.
Surujpaul slammed 66 and got valuable support from Patrick Rooplall with 33 as Die Hard posted 128-5, batting first. Golden Fleece replied with 106-7. G. Singh cracked 42; Richard Latif and Y. Mohamed claimed 2-16 each.
Affiance Storm went down to Richmond Warriors by eight wickets. Affiance Storm took first strike and made 101-5 with Ganesh Mangal scoring 33 and Latchman Rohit 30. F. Ali had 2-14. Richmond Warriors responded with 104-2 in 8.5 overs. S. Ahiram struck 50.
Adventure SC overcame AK Dealers by 39 runs. Adventure SC took first strike and made 114-7. G. Sharma struck an even half century. J. Baljodha had 2-17. AK Dealers made 75 all out in 9.5 overs in reply. R. Beharry got 26; S. Sarabjeet had 3-12.
GT Warriors lost to United Warriors by seven wickets. GT Warriors scored 114-7, taking first strike. D. De Silva made 38. United Warriors made 119-3 in 8.2 overs in response. B. Mangar hit 42.
United Brothers defeated Golden Fleece by 13 runs. United Brothers got 111-9, taking first knock. G. Dean made 15. Golden Fleece responded with 98-6. J. Nandharry hit 32.
Invaders Masters beat El Dorado by 10 runs. Invaders Masters managed 93-7. R. Gonsalves hit 21; K. Singh had 4-8. Eldorado were bowled out for 83 in nine overs in reply. Ramesh Narine grabbed 6-4.
Devonshire Castle made 169-5, while Fire Station got 105-3 in reply.
