A 29-year old man was killed yesterday morning after he lost control of the car he was driving and slammed into a lorry at Harrauni Public Road along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
Dead is Simon Paul, 29, of Lot 30 Victoria Village, East Coast Demerara.
Kaieteur News understands that Paul was proceeding south along the eastern side of the road in his car, PBB 9105 when he lost control and crashed into lorry GSS 5346 that was heading in the opposite direction. The driver of the lorry and a porter were treated at the East Bank Demerara Hospital and sent away.
Paul was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A breathalyzer test conducted on the driver of the lorry revealed that he was not under the influence of alcohol.
