Sharda Persaud, the mother of 15-year-old Kemraj Lalchan, who reportedly went missing on March 19, is pleading for his safe return home.
Lalchan, of 114 Patentia, West Bank Demerara, left his home last Sunday to go swimming and never returned.
According to the lad’s mother, she last saw her son at home on that same day, when she was leaving for work, and instructed him to take care of his three younger siblings.
The woman further stated that when she returned home the said evening and enquired about his whereabouts, she was told by the younger siblings that he had left around midday with a few friends – four male and one female – to go swimming.
The distraught woman said that she called her son during the evening and he told her that he was in the backdam working with a man name ‘Beard Man’ and would come home when he’s ready.
The woman said that the following day she got in contact with ‘Beard Man’ who agreed to meet her at a gas station and speak with her. She further explained that ‘Beard Man’ told her that he was unaware of her son being in the backdam at his camp, but it was a possibility that he could be there without his knowledge.
The woman said that she is unable to get in contact with her son and she is getting increasingly worried.
“I just want him to come home and be with us. I don’t want him to work, I want him to come and go to school. His siblings and I miss him so much.”
The woman said that she believes that her son is being kept against his will
Anyone with information that will help her find her son can contact her on telephone number 680-1038 or the nearest police station.
