With the current inclement weather pattern being experienced here the ongoing Anamayah Memorial Basketball Competition suffered its first serious setback when the game between Fyrish Back Sharks and the Ithaca Hardliners scheduled for last Sunday at the Ithaca Basketball Court was washed out. That game is expected to be replayed on a later date.
Meanwhile, the competition continues tomorrow with Smythfield Rockers taking on Hopetown Stealers from 16:00 hrs at the Vryman’s Erven Basketball court.
Six teams are participating in the competition with the teams being divided into two groups. The winner and runner up in one group will play the winner and runner up in the other group for a place in the final.
At stake in the competition will be cash and other incentives for the winning and runner-up teams and other outstanding players.
The tournament is being organised by sport enthusiast Vibert Garnett. (Samuel Whyte)
