Three employees of Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Business Enterprise at Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice, who stole items valued over $1M, appeared in the Blairmont Magistrate’s Court, yesterday, before Magistrate Rhondell Weaver on two charges of simple larceny.
Howard Mohamed, 24, an electrician of Bush Lot village, West Coast Berbice, is accused of stealing two computer boxes valued at $1M.
Mohamed who was represented by attorney at Law Joel Edmonds was granted bail in the sum of $150,000.
The incident is said to have been committed between September 13 and September15, 2016.
The other two, Bishram Heralall, called “Ryan”, 24, an electrician of No 7 West Coast Berbice, and Zahir Yakub, 22, a mechanic, of 118 Waterloo, Bath, West Coast Berbice, are jointly charged with simple larceny.
They are accused of stealing a fuel injector and temperature gauge valued at $250,000.
They were granted bail in the sum of $100, 00 each.
According to prosecutor, Corporal Rochelle Mars, the men who have exclusive access to the entity heavy duty facility and work shop at Bush lot reportedly removed the articles during the time mentioned.
The men reportedly made arrangement with a buyer to sell the items for a price. However something went wrong with the arrangements. As the men were reportedly in the process of taking the articles to sell, the owners were tipped off. The police were informed and the men were contacted and ordered to return the items.
Two of the men had skipped work on the day with various excuses.
A file was prepared and sent to the DPP for advice and it was instructed that all three be charged.
