The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) objective of successfully
completing 450 programmes/activities for 2017 received a major boost when three companies – Mings Products and Services Ltd., Hand in Hand Insurance Company and WR Enterprise handed over sponsorship to the club.
Set to aim at achieving over 500 programmes/activities for the first time in its 27-year history, RHTY&SC would be placing special emphasis on internal cricket development apart from hosting numerous cricket and other sporting tournaments.
The expansion of the Say NO/Say Yes Campaign which targets 60,000 youths in Berbice, celebrating Rose Hall 175th anniversary and expanding their charity programme to assist more single parents and less fortunate households are also high on the agenda.
Mings Products and Services donated 24 cricket balls to the Cricket Development Programme, while Hand in Hand Insurance Company contributed three trophies for the club’s 27th annual awards ceremony as well as made a financial contribution towards the 18th annual Youth Review Magazine.
Mr. Narine, Managing Director of WR Enterprise located on Regent Street, Georgetown also made a contribution to the Charity programme for Less Fortunate Families. Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster expressed the club’s delight that corporate Guyana continues to support its outstanding work and noted that 2017 would be a very special one as members would be working to surpass the magical target of 500 programmes/activities by the 15th of December.
They have already completed 35 up to the 20th of January.
The Cricket balls donated by Mings Products and Services would be used by the coaching staff during daily practice sessions for the junior players while the trophies would be given to the Club’s Most Promising, Most Discipline and Most Improved Players for 2016.
The 48-page Youth Review Magazine is set to be published in May/June and would chronicle the club’s work during last year when 453 programmes/activities was accomplished.
