New York (New York Post) -The gangbanger ex-boyfriend of the city corrections officer fatally shot in Brooklyn was found — cowering in a closet — by authorities Wednesday, law-enforcement sources said.
Alastasia Bryan’s ex-beau was identified by sources as Keon Richmond and is being called a “person of interest” in her death.
He was hauled to the 63rd Precinct station house in Brooklyn, sources said.
Richmond, a member of the “Pay Back Crips” street gang, was picked up by the New York-New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force who found him hiding in a closet at the home of an acquaintance on East 58th Street and Flatlands Avenue in Flatlands, Brooklyn, sources said.
He was nabbed for an unrelated arson case in Brooklyn – for torching a car belonging to another ex-girlfriend — and police will grill him on Bryan’s murder, according to sources.
Richmond, who has 30 prior arrests and goes by the nickname “Trini,” is believed to have been seething that Bryan, 25, recently had him busted for stealing her car, sources said.
Richmond, a native of Trinidad, was busted Nov. 2 for driving her 2010 BMW 750 after she reported it stolen, sources said. She had leased the car, and the ex-beau took it, they said. When he refused to give it back, she reported it stolen, sources said.
The former boyfriend was charged with grand larceny auto in that case and has a court hearing on the incident in January.
Bryan also made a report against her ex in May 2015 accusing him of making death threats against her, the sources said.
At the time, she was working as a security guard at Kingsborough Community College and was so afraid he would try to hurt her that the school put another guard on duty with her, sources said.
Bryan a newly minted corrections officer, was gunned down while sitting in her car Dec. 4 at the corner of Avenue L and E 73rd Street in the Flatlands section of the borough by a man who was waiting for her, police said.
The gunman fired five shots, striking the officer in the head and torso, killing her instantly. The shooter then got back into his car and sped away, cops said.
At Bryan’s tearful funeral Tuesday, her father Donald Bryan fumed about his daughter’s shooter, saying “I will kill that motherf–er right now.”
