Transport Sports Club registered an eight-wicket victory over Police to secure their place in the final when the semi finals of the Georgetown Cricket Association Noble House Sea Foods second division two-day tournament concluded yesterday.
Batting first at Eve Leary, Police were bowled out for 118 in 28.4 overs with Clytus Gibson scoring 19, Reginald Rodrigues, Paul Tyndall and Fitzroy Culley 18 apiece. Joshua Wilson grabbed 4-38 while Devaughn Nandan, Keon Morris and Kevin Ross had two each.
Transport SC replied with 261 all out in 65.1 overs. Shawn Massiah struck 51 with four fours and two sixes while Nandan made 41, Rafeal Singh 36, Sunil Singh 25 and Adrian Hinds 20. Leg spinner Vishal Jaigobin bagged 6-84.
Trailing by 143, Police scored 167 all out. Rodrigues hit 35, Tyndall and Steven Harris 31 each. Nandan grabbed 4-65, Azeem Azeez 2-4 and Massiah 2-56. Chasing 25, Transport reached their target for the lost of two wickets with Ryan Hemraj scoring 20.
Meanwhile, Everest failed to field a team in their fixture against GNIC SC.
