Dear Editor;
I would like to bring to the attention of the Craig-Caledonia NDC and the Ministry of Public Infrastructure the current deplorable state of the bridge connecting Grant’s Scheme, Craig to the East Bank Public Road. As it stands, the bridge consists of two curb walls and two HDPE tubes over which gravel was poured and the thinnest of layers of asphalt was laid. This has now become a series of pits that take vehicles almost 30 seconds to negotiate to get on or off the public road in the face of traffic coming around the Hope turn. Apart from the danger to vehicles there is the constant risk of loss of life. I hope this can be attended to and the residents can be relieved of this daily stress. At the same time the Craig drainage canal that connects Buzz-a-bee Dam to the Hope outfall can also be looked at and the potholes in what may be Guyana’s smallest housing scheme.
