Dear Editor;
We read with great sadness of the passing of Professor Doris Rogers. I had the good fortune of many discussions with Professor Rogers on the importance of Art in our Cultural milieu.
She was a great believer that had a great understanding of the value and utility of the fine Arts and who made a great contribution to making our society a nicer place where we express our deep feelings through the fine Arts.
I am fortunate that during my discussions at her visits to our home, she persuaded me to purchase the set of paintings she produced while in Nigeria including a fascinating painting with Kente cloth. Her several paintings have greatly enhanced my personal collection and will provide a fond memory of the giant of a Guyanese woman.
