Dear Editor;
Guyana’s top school ‘Queen’s College’ via the press (SN dated Sept.29, 2016) and partially captioned report ‘School seeking support to rehabilitate ground’ indeed came as a total shock.
Isn’t that the institution that former President LFS Burnham, Cheddi Jagan, current President David Granger and many other government Ministers, prominent Guyanese etc. attended?
Minister Nicolette Henry (Minister of Culture, Sport, Youth), in a response to a letter I penned a short while ago via the press, stated that ‘Billions have been invested in sports development’ and I am now wondering why is it Queens’ College is seeking the public’s support to the a tune of 20 million dollars for the fixing of its sports ground? Aren’t the School Board of Governors and the administration of ‘QC’ aware that they can visit/contact the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport for assistance with the completion of this venture?
