As part of its 47th anniversary celebrations, the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) and Sports Club successfully hosted a fashion show on Saturday night at its sports club, Carifesta Avenue. Several models including staff members of NIS thrilled fans as they paraded the stage in their costumes.
President of NIS Sports Club, Barbara Marshall, said that apart from the anniversary celebrations which would be observed tomorrow, the show was also held to reignite the sports club. She added that they are working towards getting staff members more actively involved in the sports club.
The President said they are planning to host several activities in the near future including a quiz in honour of the late Patrick Martinborough, a former general manager of the entity. Marshall stated that she was satisfied with the turn out. She paid tribute to Doreen Nelson, the outgoing general manager who is proceeding on pre-retirement leave.
She indicated that they hosted a dominoes competition which was won by the Finance Department. The event was sponsored by Raymond Ali of All Season Racing Service, Neville Cadogan, Spartans Dominoes Club and Georgetown Dominoes Association’s, President Faye Joseph.
