Fruta Conquerors FC inflicted a 6-1 drubbing on Bartica FC when the action continued in the Women’s Development League football competition at the Tucville Ground last Saturday afternoon. Collette Hope netted a hat-trick in the 23rd, 45th and 64th minutes with support from Shania Riley (11), Nicola Leacock (26) and Lakeisha Pearson (36). Kerry Thomas pulled back an inconsequential goal for Bartica in the 16th minute.
The players would be in action once again this Wednesday, 28th September when the GDF tackle Foxy Ladies starting at 16:00hrs.
Meanwhile, the action continued yesterday afternoon in District Two at the Number 5 Ground with NA United up against Demerara Queens from Linden followed by West Side Conquerors against Kuru Kuru Warriors. There were no matches in District Three over the past week due to the Heritage Day celebrations in Region 9.
Other results read: 17th September, 2016: St. Ignatius FC wins 4-0 over Shunilab FC. The scorers were Sonia Griffith (3, 15, 28) and Amanda Cabral (39). Kwakwani Strikers FC then defeated NA United 3-1 following successes by Narleen Rogers (6) and Jolade Trim (4;17).
On18th September, Demerara Queens triumphed over Kuru Kuru Warriors 5-0 after Latoya Whittington scored in the 4th minute with support from Lisa Parkison (16) and a hat-trick from Sharlyn Kingston in the 17th, 30th and 36th minutes.
