The second annual Clive Gobin Memorial cricket competition is set to get underway tomorrow
at the Zorg Sports Club ground on the Essequibo Coast. The competition which will be played on a round-robin basis at the Under-16 level involves Abramville, NOC, Johanna Cecelia and Aurora Secondary schools as well as Zorg Sports Club and will be played on a 20-over basis.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport yesterday, Organiser Debra Daniels said that they will also host a female open T20 tournament using the plastic balls. She informed that there will be a ceremony to declare the competition open as well as the Zorg SC members’ pavilion which was recently renovated by the Gobin family which has undertaken to maintain the building.
Prior to the finals which will be played on October 2 at the said venue the club will be staging a female softball competition starting at 08:30hrs. Entrance fee is $5,000 and teams can contact Debra Daniels on 602 7110 or Davina Goberdhan on 673 5792 for information on registration.
Clive Gobin was a former member of the Zorg Sports Club.
