Dear Editor,
Recently, a number of car washes are springing up in residential areas.
Some of them operate at a high level of noise, causing neighbours to be uncomfortable in their homes. You have to talk on your telephone in the washroom area and when skyping also. You also have to turn up your TV volume. Dirty water discoloring the walls of your homes.
Also, the colorful language used at some of them. A number of questions for the authorities :
Have the City Council given permission for them to operate on Council reserve ?
Are they registered with the Guyana Revenue Authority ?
Do they pay commercial rates with Guyana Water Inc. and Guyana Power & Light? Here’s hoping something can be done.
