Trophy Stall presents trophies

Thousands including a number of top government and regional officials are expected to be in attendance today for the second annual ‘Real President’s Cup Horserace meet which is being held in honour of Guyana’s President,
his Excellency Brigadier David Granger. The event which has been organized by the RSTC in collaboration with the Friends of Rising Sun is slated for today at the Rising Sun Turf Club Arima Park West Coast Berbice.
The eight races carded has received some major late injections which has pushed the total prize package to $ 10M which includes cash, trophies and other incentives up for the takings.
Reports from the venue are that all systems are in place. The surface has been rolled and watered, the fence, the rails and the stands have all been given a face lift for the big day.
Meanwhile, the Trophy Stall along with the Government of Guyana, Banks DIH, Nand Persaud and Company, Inshan Bacchus Mining and Trucking Service, Jumbo Jet and Gansham Singh Lumber yard of No 6 West Coast Berbice are the major sponsors on board.
Over 80 of Guyana’s top horses will be matching strides as the competed for the heft winning available.
All eyes will once again be on the feature A and Lower 1400M even, where a few questions are expected to be answered as to which is the best race horse in Guyana. The event has attracted 10 starters with defending champion Just Call Me Boss looking to continue its good showing especially at that venue. But will definitely have its work cut out against the likes of the Inform Princess She Not, Score’s Even, CP Got Even, Jack in My Style, Lady Budapest, Brave Sky, Release the Beast, Plum Plum and the newly imported Light Up Canada running out of the Nand Persaud Karibee Rice Stable. The winner is set to race away with the hefty $1.2M and the massive President’s Cup trophy compliments of Trophy Stall Bourda market.
A winners prize of $600,000 and trophy is available for the top animal in the event for E and lower animals over 1400M. Among the front runners are Release the Beast, Because I Say So, Plum Plum, Precise Gold, Good Will Boy, It’s My Choice, Mansoon and California Strike.
The G class 1400M race is expected to be a close encounter with the likes of Keep on Swinging, Red Rocket, Cat Messiah, It’s My Choice, Campador, Big Man Boss, Witchy Poo and Red Rocket expected to explode for the winning prize of $400,000 and trophy.
The two year old event for Guyana Bred horses over 1100M for a winning pocketing $350,000 and trophy will see Animals such as Champion Boy, Royal Jet, Seven Dust, Born To Be True, Genuine Risk and King Stanley looking for the win.
Other races will feature H and Lower horses over 1400M for $300,000 winners money, the J and Lower 1100M gallop has a top prize of $260,000 and trophy, the K and lower 1100M event has some 12 runners lined up for a pole position taking of $240,000 and trophy.
There are over 27 animals entered for the two L class events.
The first event is for open L and lower horses over 1100M for a winning purse of $220,000 and trophy. The second event is for L class maidens horses (that hasn’t won an event) which has some 15 entries as they also compete over 1100M for a winning pocket of $180,000 and trophy.
Other sponsors include Chico Singh, Habla Meat Centre, Rising Sun Cattle Ranch and the Chester Fry Chicken Bush Lot, among others.
Top jockeys, runner up, stable and trainer will be presented with incentives compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall and the organizers.
The Guyana Government and the Guyana Horse Racing Authority (GHRA) have both gave their full blessing to the activity. Race time is 12:00hrs.
