The rider of an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) had to be rushed to a private city hospital after
a collision with a car left him nursing severe injuries to the head.
Reports are that both parties were travelling at a fast rate along Company Road, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, when the ATV ran into the side of the car. According to eyewitness, the rider of the ATV was pitched some 10 metres away. The driver of the vehicle, however, escaped without any injury.
The rider, who is known in the area as “Rastaman” was rushed to the hospital by public spirited citizens. This publication was told that the ATV flipped several times.
Up to press time this publication was told that the man was listed as critical, but a source at the city hospital said that there was a good chance of him recovering.
