Mahdia Secondary benefit from gear, balls and boots
Proprietor of Hinds Supermarket in the gold mining town of Mahdia, Roger Hinds has continued his support and investment in the development of the youths in Mahdia. On Wednesday afternoon last at his Supermarket, Hinds presented two sets of uniforms to the Mahdia Secondary School along with a set of footballs and boots.
In an invited comment following the presentation, Hinds said that he was pleased to continue investing and encouraging the youths of Mahdia in their quest to succeed in whatever discipline they choose.
He noted that he has always been giving back to the community and football continues to benefit. Uniforms were presented to the senior school team which took on Bush Lot Secondary in the National Playoffs of the Digicel Schools Football Championship but they lost that encounter 3-4 via kicks from the penalty mark.
The school’s Under-14 team also benefitted from a set of uniforms, while balls and boots were also handed over. Accepting on behalf of the school was their senior Captain, Travis Caesar who expressed gratitude to Hinds on the school’s behalf. Coach Ragon Wilkie was also present at the simple ceremony which took place at Hinds’ Supermarket.
Hinds also posited the view that the community is endowed with lots of talented sportsmen and women and he is on the path to ensure that they are recognized.
