Guyana’s Top Male & Female Badminton Players SUNBURST Narayan Ramdhani & Priyanna Ramdhani are currently attending the Pan American Junior Badminton Championships July 19 – 23, 2016 at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento in Lima, Peru. Both players are not only playing in the tournament but up against High Altitude and Cold conditions as its Peru’s Winter Period.
Tuesday, 4-Times Panam Medalist Priyanna Ramdhani started in great form by winning her First Round Matches in both Under-15 Girl Singles and Girls Doubles.
In the Girls Singles she defeated Beien Trocoso of CHILE: 21-11, 16-21, 21-16.
In the Girls Doubles she reached into the Quarterfinals teaming up again as last year with Sara Michelle Barrios Chiong of GUATEMALA to defeat Andera Flores & Ariana Airi Moromisato of PERU: 21-12, 21-8.
Narayan Ramdhani seeded No.2 in the Singles Draw due to a muscle Injury lost his Singles to Nicardo Reid of JAMAICA. Narayan won the first game at 21-14, during the second game leading at 14-6, he picked up a muscle injury and lost 21-14. In the third game although he tried mentally to get back in the game his physical injury prevented him.
The next match he had to play later in the evening was the Mix Doubles with Priyanna but again he could not overcome his injury and they lost to Sane Wilson & Alana Bailey of JAMAICA: 21-11, 21-11.
The tournament continued yesterday with Priyanna Ramdhani down to play against Adriana Bernales Pinillos in Singles and Narayan Ramdhani & Shea Martin of Barbados playing against Ailton Josue Correa Martinez & Francisco Rafael Trevino of Mexico in Doubles.
