A motorcyclist was struck down and killed yesterday evening, after he swerved into the path of a speeding motor truck along the Annandale Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
Dead is Nateram Abtrimanan, 53, of Lot 2 Unity Village, East Coast Demerara. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The accident occurred at around 18:30hrs.
Kaieteur News understands that the truck, GPP 4945 which is owned by a rice milling company was at the time being driven by 28-year-old Gavin Aaron. It is reported that the lorry was heading east along the Annandale Public Road when the motorcyclist, Nateram Abtrimanan, failed to stop at an intersection and swerved into its path.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
The truck driver is currently in custody assisting with investigations.
