– victims found on seawalls
Police are searching for an East Bank Berbice man in connection with the alleged rape of three girls aged 10, seven and four.
Commander of ‘B’ Division, Ian Amsterdam, said that villagers found the alleged victims on the Edinburgh seawall and alerted a welfare officer, who contacted the police.
The victims disclosed that their stepfather raped them and then told them to leave their home. This reportedly occurred on Thursday. A medical examination reportedly revealed signs of sexual assault. They are being kept in a medical institution. Police have detained the mother, who has 14 children. Eleven of them are girls.
However, police are still hunting for the stepfather who has since gone into hiding.
