A woman, who allegedly stabbed her reputed husband with a crow bar after he found her in bed with another man, was on Tuesday remanded to prison by the Chief Magistrate on a wounding charge.
Alexis Tappin, 25, a cook of Lot 3 Chapel Street, Lodge, Georgetown, was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
It is alleged that on July 2, at Georgetown, Tappin, while in the company of another unlawfully and maliciously wounded Sherwin Johnson with intent to murder him.
Tappin will make her next court appearance on July 28.
According to reports the accused and Johnson have a child together. It is alleged that on the day in question, Johnson came home and found her in bed with another man.
It is alleged that Tappin and her lover dealt Johnson several lashes about his body. Tappin subsequently armed herself with a crow bar and stabbed her child father several times about the body.
Police Prosecutor, Corporal Deniro Jones opposed bail for Tappin saying that Johnson is still hospitalized in a critical condition.
