The Organisers of the 10 annual Guyana Cup, 50th Golden Jubilee Independence Anniversary Horserace meet is making sure all will be well for the big day which promises to be the biggest and best Guyana Cup Horserace meet so far.
To help put things in order, Fix It Vulcanizing and Tire Shop of Armadale West Coast Berbice has affixed their signature to be a part of the big day. The mega horserace meet which is organized by the Jumbo Jet Businesses in collaboration with the Port Mourant Turf Club and is slated for Sunday 14th August at the Port Mourant Turf Club, beginning at 12:00 hrs.
Even though the activity is more than a month away, more business entities are rushing forward to be a part of the big day especially since the activity is being help as part of Guyana’s observation of its Golden Jubilee Independence Anniversary.
The eight race meet has so far attracted a whopping $22M in cash, trophies and other incentives with more lucrative finances set to be added as race day draws neared.
Already a number of incentives have been announced for the winners for certain events with the winning horses in the A class, the three year old event and the two year old races collecting an extra $500,000, $400,000 and $200,000 bonuses respectively.
The jockeys riding the respective animals in those events will all ride away with an extra $50,000 bonus.
There are also expected to be increase bonuses for the top jockeys, stables and trainers on the day apart from the usual accolades.
The presentation ceremony was held at the FIX It Vulcanizing and Type Shop office at which proprietors- Mr and Mrs Ramsammy presented the cheque to Rovin De Souza of the Guyana Cup Organising Committee. The proprietors expressed their pleasure in being granted the privilege to be associated with the mega event.
Among other companies on board so far are the Hand In Hand Insurance Company, Colours Boutique of Georgetown, Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall, BM Soat Auto Sales, Jameel Bar and Entertainment Lounge, the Muneshwar Store and the Hyper Malt beverage company.
The lists of events slated for the day are the “A” and lower 1600M for a $4M winner’s prize and the Guyana Cup Trophy from a total package of $8M.
The other races are the Co-feature 1600M event for 3yrs old horses, bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies, for a hefty $2M and trophy.
The Two year old event is for West Indies Bred horses for a $1M and trophy over 1000M.
The E class event has $1M and trophy for the winner over 1300M.
The G3 and lower 1300M gallop has a winning tag of $700,000 and trophy. The H and lower 1400M race has a winning pocket of $500,000 and trophy.
The animals classified J and K and lower will race for $350,000 and trophy over 1100M. The L class 1000M race has a winning purse of $250,000 and trophy.
The top Jockey along with the runner up, the top stable and champion trainer will all be presented with trophies and other incentives compliments of the organizers and Trophy Stall.
